Silverstone Fara R1 Pro Overview and First Look
Silverstone might not be a household name, but the company produces everything from PC cases to high-performance AIO coolers. We have taken an in-depth look at the Silverstone Fara R1 Pro to see if it still holds up as a value-focused mid-tower ATX case in 2026.
The mid-tower ATX case features a front honeycomb mesh panel made from perforated steel with a plastic frame. Mesh fronts have become standard in this segment, and Silverstone delivers a clean, functional design that prioritizes airflow over flashy aesthetics.
The Fara series comes in two versions. The Fara R1 is the non-RGB variant, while the Fara R1 Pro includes ARGB fans and a controller. Available in black and white, this review covers the black model. The overall look is simple and understated, with well-placed front I/O and clean lines.
The case includes a fully transparent, tint-free tempered glass side panel held in place by four thumbscrews. The front I/O offers two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, a reset button, and a power button. That is one more USB port than most competing cases in this price range.

What Is in the Box
The Silverstone Fara R1 Pro includes four 120mm ARGB fans (three intake at the front, one exhaust at the rear), an ARGB controller with a mode switch, and 2.5-inch drive trays. Six motherboard standoffs come pre-installed. For an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, three additional standoffs needed to be added.
Storage Support
Below the PSU shroud, a 3.5-inch HDD cage is included. The side panel supports two SSDs, and the front of the case can hold two more for a total of four SSDs. If you are building a modern system with fast NVMe storage, consider pairing this case with a budget-friendly NVMe SSD like the Kingston NV1 for a snappy experience.
The front fan mounts support either two 140mm fans or three 120mm fans as replacements for the stock fans. The top panel fits two 120mm or two 140mm fans, which is plenty for mounting a 240mm AIO liquid cooler.
The overall building experience went smoothly. The only tight spot is the PSU area, where the 3.5-inch HDD cage slightly intrudes on cable routing. A full-size power supply still fits, but routing cables requires some patience.
Cable Management
Cable management is a mixed bag. The front-panel audio and I/O cables have very little clearance, making them tricky to route cleanly. The CPU power cable also has limited room, and the best approach is to install the PSU, route the cables, and then mount the PSU in place.

Thermal Performance
Test bench specifications:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 4.0 GHz
- Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
- RAM: Adata XPG D60G 8GB x 2 @ 3600 MHz
- GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 Founders Edition
With all four stock fans running at default speeds, the CPU never exceeded 85 degrees Celsius under full load. Note that this was with a Ryzen 5 3600 overclocked to 4.0 GHz on the stock AMD cooler.
The RTX 3070 reached a maximum of 85 degrees Celsius under load. With a custom fan curve applied, the GPU temperature dropped to 63 degrees. These results are solid for a case in this price bracket. Silverstone Fara R1 Pro Verdict
The Silverstone Fara R1 Pro remains a compelling budget ARGB case in 2026. The competitive pricing and included accessories make it one of the best value-for-money options available. The four ARGB fans, mesh front panel, and tempered glass side panel deliver features usually found in more expensive cases.
