WhatsApp is testing a new feature that started rolling out yesterday. There are lot of going updates in all the companies to improves people the way they use their smartphones. This update will probably change how people add contacts on their devices but is it for everyone?
In the latest WABetaInfo reports, says WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature that can help users add contacts directly through a QR in provided in the app. According to this, people can share their contacts or scan other people’s contacts through their device to add a new person to their list.
This feature is out in beta testing for both WhatsApp iOS and Android users not being particular to one of them. Users and developers can try the new beta mode and see for themselves how this is going to improve their lives.
Keeping in mind that users get irritated by adding the contact of a new person in a traditional way, this feature is introduced. But the way it works might not fulfill what the company is trying to do here. Being with someone in-person might give you an advantage of this app as you can just scan someone’s QR and add them onto your contact list but for people online its just another burden or a process that they’ll have to follow to add the contact through the QR.

Another feature spotted in the beta besting version was the resetting of QR code. This is important for the safety of people if your QR gets in the wrong hands, your contact details will be out and anyone can access your number and spam your chat on the App. This will make sure you reset the QR code once your work is done and the person desired has added you as a contact.
Not sure what the company is trying to achieve here but they’re definitely on to something and its a start. The Beta is out as of yesterday for iOS and android and all of your waiting to try it can enroll here. The official statement is not yet given by WhatsApp regarding this and we have no details as to when will this be out officially.
