OnePlus being the fastest growing smartphone brand in the industry always had some unique products in each of its series. It seems like their best relationship with McLaren which gave us awesome products has finally come to an end.
OnePlus Special Editions
The special edition launches were spotted from the 5T series when it was launched in Star Wars: Last Jedi Edition and following up with the Marvel Avengers Edition in OnePlus 6. Both these editions were region limited so not everyone had access to it. This came to an end when OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition was launched.
In the new edition, the device saw an upgrade in the material finish and a significant upgrade in the RAM and supported Warp Charge 30. This trend followed up with the launch of OnePlus 7T McLaren Edition which saw the same upgrades too. The partnership with McLaren now seems to be at the end according to the website.
One of the eagle-eyed Redditors saw a post on the official site of McLaren where there was a list of its partners. According to the post by XDA, OnePlus was listed on the page until March 29, 2020. So its been like a month since the partnership between both the companies came to an end. There’s no official statement yet by any of the parties telling us anything about the partnership.

You might be thinking is the partnership over? What now? Well, the company is known for its brand image and we’re sure they’re going to find another awesome company and create special products for their upcoming device. The only thing we know about is users won’t be able to see the OnePlus 8T McLaren Edition.
On the bright side, this might be an opportunity for OnePlus to explore better special editions of the device. They would never let the users down.
Not having a partnership this year means OnePlus having only two devices to manage and give updates to which is going to result in better user experience. We could witness good OS updates for both the newly launched devices.
Again all the information is based upon facts from the official website and we don’t have any evidence yet from either of the companies. We’ll keep you updated once we have something from the brands.
