Animated Stickers

There were reports that WhatsApp was working on launching the animated stickers for over a year now and is officially launching now. The animated stickers will allow the communication of emotions and simplify them for the users. Currently, the app supports static stickers which are quite popular among the users.

QR Code

This feature was in testing for more than a month and there was a leak about WhatsApp working on this. Finally, you have an option to add new contact directly by scanning the other person’s QR instead of typing the digits manually on your device. There’s one thing to note that this process is only feasible for people you meet in real life and it’s not possible for users online.

Web and Desktop Dark Mode

Dark mode for WhatsApp was officially launched in March this year. Sadly for web users, this wasn’t possible but the company didn’t leave it out. Dark Mode is one of the most popular in devices these days had to launch for WhatsApp.

Video Call Improvements

Starting a video call in a group of less than 8 people is now easier. All you have to do is tap on the video call button and you’re good to go. The only requirement is the group needs to have 8 or less members.

Another feature added in the group calling was to zoom and focus on one member. You can tap and hold on the member you want to focus and only the particular member will be displayed full screen on your device.

These features are not yet available for all the users and will roll out in the coming few weeks. We will notify you as soon as the features are available on the respective platforms.
