The future is here. As many flagship smartphones, these days don’t come with a charger out of the box, this might be a big bump in the technology in terms of charging technology.
Various companies have promised the no-contact-wireless charging years back and the first to enter the market in terms of the news is the Mi Air Charge which was announced on Jan 29th, 2021.
The same day, Motorola debuted its own no-contact wireless charging. A video showing off the remote charging station shows two different smartphones placed 80cm and 100cm from the charging station.
The demonstration video shows the charging mechanism along with how the charging stops when an object is placed in front of the air charging dock, in the video a hand is placed in front of the charging dock and the charging stops automatically.
There’s no other information relating to the Motorola that has appeared on the internet on how the no-contact wireless charging technology operates in the wild. This video has also been one of the first-ever videos teasing the no-contact charging and there’s no confirmation to the part whether there will be any official announcement whether or not to make this as a commercial product as well.
