Apple has started the manufacture of iPhone 11 in India which we didn’t expect but now all the iPhone fans can buy the device with even less price than usual since the price is not going to be the same.
This was confirmed after Piyush Goyal tweeted this news out to the people. The new venture by Apple is not only in support of Made In India products but also in supporting the ban of Chinese products in India. The new line will help Apple buyers in India by giving them the products off their duty-free prices. After India Made series is out, the price drop-in iPhone 11 will be almost 22% which is a lot. This was due to the global manufacturing taxes applied while importing the device from other countries.
This happened after the company announced the manufacturing of the recently iPhone SE in India last month which was given to one of their old suppliers Wistron. Earlier this month, Foxconn also announced its $1bn investment in India for the manufacturing of its devices in the country. Following up, the second biggest manufacturer Pegatron announced they will create some subsidiaries for the assembly lines in India.
The new iPhone 11 is being manufactured at the Foxconn plant near Chennai, reports ET and this is for the first time Apple is creating top of the line models in India. This was in relation to the Govt’s Made in India initiative which has urged many companies with their investment plants in India. This includes Samsung, Xiaomi, following up with Apple. Even Google announced its $10bn investment in Digital India and producing affordable smartphones for the people.
