WhatsApp released these features for Beta users a month ago and its already popular among the users. The feature was not yet available for the non-beta users but the company has launched it for everyone. Apart from this, the company is also working on some other features for the users to make their life easier.
According to the blog on WhatsApp official, the Dark Mode extends to Web and desktop users which earlier was available only for Android users. This feature was launched for beta already and is now extending to the regular users.
Adding a contact through a QR is also rolling out worldwide for everyone through which users can add contacts from a person’s QR. You can read in detail here. This was rolled out for both iOS and Android users.
A new feature named Mute Always will launch for the users that want to mute some groups infinitely until they turn in back on. There are some reasons due to which you cannot leave a group and you hate staying there. This feature will make your task easier and stop your device from getting notifications from the particular group. The release about this feature is not confirmed yet but it was spotted on WABetaInfo which is close to the beta news about WhatsApp. But it should roll out soon as this is a must requested feature from the WhatsApp community.

Another feature WhatsApp is reported to be working on is the self-destruct messages. As the name says, messages sent can be timed by the sender and set to self destruct after the timer ends. This feature is quite useful, especially while sending sensitive information on the platform. Users can send OTP’s and other access information without having to worry about the end user forgetting to delete it from their device. We have no idea as to when these features will be available from the company but we’ll keep you updated as soon as they’re out.
