After removing the trending application ‘Remove China Apps’ from the play store, Google has issued a statement regarding this matter and why they were forced to do so. The app became so popular withing days to grab the attention of the tech giant and took action immediately.

Remove China Apps was launched a couple of days to which scans your device and tells you all the Chinese apps running on your smartphone. Furthermore, the app lets you uninstall China developed applications from your device. This app was made for the sole purpose of banning the use of everything that comes from China to stop them from making revenue from India.

Having such a big motive, ‘Remove China Apps’ grabbed the attention of all the people who are working from home and need something to spend their time on. Since so many people using this application, Google reported it violates some terms and conditions of the play store that can be harmful to other developers. The app got so much support from the users, it crossed more than a million downloads in just 2 weeks.

The Vice president of Google Play Store stated that applications like ‘Remove China Apps’ that target other apps on the play store are “not in the best interest for the developers and consumers”. Also mentioned that this policy has been followed for many countries and the same has been applied here.

Google said they’re working with the developers to Introduce the App in a way it would not violate the policies of the Play Store and will have a healthy environment for the developer’s community. They say the application will launch again but in a different way. They say the developers have been guided and the app will be back online if they follow the instructions.

Well, the motive of ‘Remove China Apps’ was to target Chinese Applications on the play store so there’s no way the App can go online with the intent it was created for. While the work they did was supposed to be for the betterment of the country but again the Play Store has its policies.

This was done after Google removed the controversial ‘Mitron’ app that became a rival to TikTok in India. Stay tuned and follow our social media for more updates.
