Facebook is rolling out a new feature for all Android and iOS smartphones in the messenger application. The new screen sharing feature will help people engage in their video calls with friends and families in times of quarantine.
Messenger Screen-Sharing
With tensions rising throughout the world, Facebook has come up with another feature to make sure you’re not bored and connect with your families in lockdown. To ensure this, the company has launched Screen-Sharing in the smartphones for the users. You can have a more engaging video call with your friends or close ones in a new way.
The new feature will help the users share their display screen with the other person over the video call. This feature was launched for the desktop or web users long ago but is now available for android users as well. Either one of the connect user can display and share their current device screen to the other users. According to the blog by Facebook, this feature is available for users on a single call or a group call.
Currently, this feature is also available on Messenger Rooms supporting up to 16 people. The ability to control the screen sharing for the members in the meeting will be added soon by Facebook. Other features including the limit increase of this feature will be increased up to 50. The host of the meeting will be able to control who can share their screen in the meeting once the update is finally out for Messenger Rooms.

Using the new feature is quite easy. All you need to do is start a video call with the person you want to share the screen with. Swipe the bottom navigation to find the screen share option. After selecting it, you will get a notification for permission to screen share on the device. After this, all your screens will be visible to the other end-user.
